Gary Naysmith

Gary Maysmith

Edinburgh born left back who has been capped 46 times by Scotland. Started his career at Whitehall Welfare Colts before joining Hearts in 1996. He made his debut for Hearts in a League Cup game over Celtic, which Hearts secured a 1-0 extra time win. In 2000 it seemed he was set for a move to West Brom until a last minute offer of £1.7m came in for Everton and Naysmith was then Goodison bound. He spent almost 7 years at Everton before joining Sheffield United as part of a deal which saw Phil Jagielka move in the opposite direction. After 3 years, of which one was lost to injury, at Bramall Lane he joined Town to solve the left back problem.
