Nathan Clarke

Yet another product of Towns academy set up, the central defender has made over 250 appearances for his home town club and is also the longest serving member of the playing staff.  He made his first start for Town under Lou Macari at Stoke City in a 1-1 draw in September 2001 and followed an impressive debut by scoring his first career goal the following week at home to Blackpool. Since then he has held down a regular starting place and appeared in 442 magazines Top 50 Football League players list, appearing at number 40 in 2006 and 43 in 2007. During the 2008/09 season he reached 275 total appearances for Town, which leaves him in joint 26th place in Towns all time appearance list, level with Clem Stephenson.
